Online Rules & Expectations
Ko‘olau Driver’s Education
To ensure a productive and compliant online learning environment, all students are expected to follow the rules below. Failure to follow these expectations may result in dismissal from the course.
🔐 Student Identity & Equipment
Students must log in using their legal name (as it appears on their government ID). Acceptable devices: laptop, desktop, or tablet with a working webcam and microphone. Cell phones may NOT be used to attend class.
📸 Camera & Visibility Requirements
Camera must be ON for the entire class. Student must be: Visible from shoulders up at all times. In a well-lit, quiet location. No public locations (e.g., parks, restaurants) or vehicles (moving or parked). If the student is not visible on camera, they will be marked absent.
🚫 Behavioral Expectations
No sleeping or inactivity during class (e.g., eyes wandering, being distracted). No disruptions from: Parents, siblings, pets, or others entering your room. Student will be dismissed immediately from class. Student must: Sit upright in a chair and be in an appropriate learning space. Dress appropriately: No hats/caps, bikini tops, sports bras, or other inappropriate attire. Remain focused and engaged throughout the session.
📝 Participation & Academic Requirements
Must bring a pen or pencil to take notes. Complete all assigned work and activities. Pass the Final Test with a score of 80% or higher to receive the Certificate of Completion.
🟡 Attendance & Breaks
Student must request permission before leaving the virtual classroom. Leaving without permission = automatic dismissal from class. Missed sessions will need to be retaken in the next available session.
⚠️ Consequences
Each student will receive one warning for any rule violation. After the initial warning: Student will be removed from the class. The session must be retaken in a future course cycle.
